God’s Word is My Hope
Psalm 119:147 I prevented the dawning of the morning, and cried: I hope in thy word.
I had a hard time understanding what this verse meant. So I looked it up I one the commentary by John Gill. In this verse the word prevented, was what I didn’t understand what it meant. It was the person in the verse who got up before the morning dawned. He got up early to have prayer and commune with God. As a believer I often pray for things that are on my heart. There are enough things to pray for without running out of them. When you have commune with God on a daily basis, you will hear a word from Him about your concerns. God also gave us the Bible to read His word to help guide us in our life.
My husband told me that the word "Bible" meant , “Basic instructions before leaving earth.” (Bible) I thought about what he said and it makes perfect sense to me. I am reading the Bible for the fourth time and I always find something new. I think it is the greatest book ever written. The books of Psalm and Proverbs are good books to live by. The wisest Man to ever live wrote Proverbs. It contains wise advice for life. I put my hope in this very book that was written by men inspired by God. When God sent His only Son Jesus into the world, He is the very word God spoke to create the world and everything in it. Using Jesus as the example to live by is one of the smartest things I have ever done. This Book The Bible has everything in it that has happened in the world and what will happen in our world that we know today.
My prayer is if you are interested in what is going to happen in our world read the Bible, and ask God to help you understand it.
THANK YOU FOR READING AND HAVE A WONDERFUL DAY! Dianne McMillan
